A BLACKPOOL BASED roofing contractor is celebrating winning a “fantastic accolade for the roofing industry” having been shortlisted in a national competition by Which? Trusted Traders.

One of only four trades companies to be finalists, JR Roofing Lancs Limited is representing the industry in the Which? Trusted Trader of the Year 2020 awards.

The awards, launched in 2007, celebrate and reward the very best businesses in the UK. The Trusted Trader of the Year category recognises businesses that have gone the extra mile for their customers.

JR Roofing Lancs Limited Managing Director, Josh Morrison said, “For a roofing company to be on the national shortlist of such a prestigious award as Trusted Trader of the Year is a fantastic achievement and endorsement of all that we do here.”

Josh, who leads a team of five at his family roofing company said that being shortlisted is important not just to his own company but to the roofing industry as a whole.

“We are always aware that there is a negative image of roofing for some out there. Unfortunately, we regularly hear of cowboys in the area posing as professional roofers and ripping customers off. In fact, we quite often do ‘generosity jobs’ where we rectify the shoddy work of the conmen who are giving roofing a bad name. We do our part to put that right and build up a more positive image”, Josh explained.

Quality assurance

It’s their reputation for achieving quality work that Josh feels has earned JR Roofing Lancs Ltd the place as a finalist for the 2020 Which? Trusted Trader of the Year award in the first place.

The Which? Judging panel looks at the performances of traders over the 12 months. They assess how each one measures up against a range of criteria, including what’s said in customer reviews.

Quality standards along with customer service are the two principles the company operates with. This approach was endorsed when the roofers won Which? Trusted Trader of the Month in December 2019.

“It was a great achievement for the whole team,” says Josh. “And it inspired me to have the confidence to believe we can win this national competition.”
