IAN HARVEY, Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC) Chief Technical Officer, has been presented with the lifetime award as FTMRC Ambassador.
The FTMRC Chairman, Christopher Salmon thanked Ian for all his endeavours and selfless support of the Federation. This was through outstanding efforts of time, service, commitment and dedication. His notable contribution and wealth of knowledge helped as team leader in the production of the FTMRC UK Guide to Good Practice, the reference book for all in the fully supported metal roofing sector.
Ian started his career as an apprentice, appreciating the benefits of learning on the job whilst working his way up through the industry. Whilst serving his country in the British Army, he took a short time out of his career in construction. He has been involved on many major and prestigious projects, both in the UK and Europe. Ian is the ‘go to sage’ and mentor on hard metals in roofing.
Ian said, “I am proud and honoured to accept this award from the FTMRC in recognition of my continued involvement within the fully supported hard metal roofing sector. The industry has shown strength and resilience to maintain continuity and quality during these difficult and unusual times. However, we must not take our eye off the ball as Brexit. Deal or no deal, it will present many challenges but also great opportunities for the sector.”
Ian is currently working on several key projects and developments to assist the hard metal roofing industry and FTMRC members.
