Grand Designs Live Among Latest Industry Events Rescheduled

THE LATEST roofing industry events to confirm it is being cancelled and rescheduled is Grand Designs Live, which was due to take place from 2-10 May in London.

The event will now take place from 22nd August 2020 – 31st August 2020 at London’s ExCeL.

It follows the rescheduling of the RCI Show and Women in Roofing conference among others, due to fears over Covid-19, the Coronavirus.

Richard Morey, Director at Grand Designs Live organiser Media 10 said, “Media 10 continues to monitor the advice from the government and the World Health Organisation, but we believe that the new event dates will ensure the delivery of a successful show. We have not taken this decision lightly, but we have the wellbeing of all those involved in this event at the forefront of our thoughts and plans.”

Tickets already purchased are still valid for the new date line or alternatively, can be transferred at no charge to the Birmingham 2020 show taking place at The NEC on 7-11 October or to the London 2021 show taking place at ExCeL London.

The latest events to be cancelled are:

25-26 March: The Roofing, Cladding and Insulation Show
Rescheduled to 8-9 December

26-29 March: The National Homebuilding and Renovating Show
Rescheduled to 9-12 July

31 March – 1 April: Large Scale Solar EU
Rescheduled to 30 June-1 July

23 April: The IPAF Summit & IAPAs 2020
Rescheduled to 8 October

24 April: International Scaffolding Championships
Rescheduled date TBC

2-10 May: Grand Designs Live, London
Rescheduled to 22-31 August

19-21 May: The Safety and Health Expo, FIREX
Rescheduled to 8-10 September

4 June: Women in Roofing
Rescheduled to 8 March 2021

Current advice

As of yesterday, large events are now banned, stopping any gathering of people both indoors and outdoors. Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has also said everyone should now avoid social contact with others and stop non-essential travel to fight coronavirus.

Chris Witty, Chief Medical Officer, has warned the ban on social contact and travel could extend for months not weeks.
