Jobs Lost as Roofing and Construction Company Ceases Trading

A ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION contractor based in Cumbria has ceased trading and brought in administrators with 40 jobs lost.

Accounting, Financial and Business advisory firm Armstrong Watson was appointed at Egremont-based Mayson Bros on 15 January.

Mayson Bros was founded in in 1982 and covered Cumbria and further afield, as far as the North West of England and southern Scotland.

The company offered roofing alongside other building services, civil engineering, drainage and plant hire.

Wider effects

It is not yet clear how any subcontractors and the supply chain will be affected.

A statement from the administrators read, “Daryl Warwick & Mike Kienlen of Armstrong Watson LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of Mayson Bros Limited on 15 January 2020.

“The company has ceased trading and all 40 employees have been made redundant.

“The assets of the Company are in the process of being realised.”
