TIM ACLAND has taken over as general manager of two metal roof trade associations – the Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC) and the Lead Contractors Association (LCA).
Tim is replacing Ray Robertson, who is retiring after having devoted his career to building the FTMRC and the LCA into respected organisations within the hard metals roofing sector.

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Salmon, FTMRC Chairman said: “As the world’s largest traditional metal roofing federation, our members are operating in a rapidly developing market and we need to adapt and keep pace with emerging technologies and systems. We are excited to have Tim onboard to strengthen our team and drive us forward.”
Mike Hempstock, LCA Chairman added: “The LCA, with a heritage of quality, independent source of technical knowledge in design and installation, backed up by its unique 25-year guarantee scheme, welcomes Tim with his depth of experience and understanding to build on our firm foundations.”
Thanking his predecessor for all that he has achieved for both organisations, Tim said, “There are exciting opportunities ahead that we intend to grasp; these may be challenging times but we shall strive to shape and develop for the future, working hard to benefit all of our members, associates and our industry.”
