A NEW ROOF INSPECTION course is now available from Roberts Consulting.
The course is intended for those working in the roofing industry who are already qualified and experienced but may not have specific experience of roof inspections.
It is suitable for roof quality auditors; roofing contractor surveyors and estimators; technical representatives who undertake roof inspections, as well as independent roof inspectors.
The course is delivered by Keith Roberts BSc CEng MICE MIStructE MAE who is an experienced roof inspector with three decades in UK roofing. Keith has established an excellent reputation in the industry, speaks on roofing technical matters across the world and acts as an expert witness in legal cases.
One day roof inspection course
The one-day roof inspection course can be arranged at a location of choice for 10-20 attendees.
The day is divided into four sessions:
- Introduction and safety in roof inspection
- Report writing
- Inspection equipment
- Observation skills
The programme refers to all types of roof constructions, including tile & slate, self-supported metal & traditional, membrane and coated roofs.
By the end of the day students will be able to:
- list the key points in carrying out a safe roof inspection
- recognise the difference between good and bad reports
- use appropriate roof inspection equipment
- demonstrate improved observation skills
A variety of teaching methods are used, including short talks and Powerpoint presentations. Students will actively participate in discussion, with worked examples and case studies, as well as having hands-on use of test equipment. There will also be group discussions of real-life situations.
On completing the course, attendees will be given a bound copy of Keith Roberts’ RCI Technical Notes on roof inspections.
