A planning application for 107 new houses has been submitted to Liverpool City Council as the first tranche of a £500m investment programme to develop 30,000 new homes in the city by 2030.
The £14m proposal by Liverpool City Council’s social housing arm, Foundations, could see construction start in the Dovecot area of north Liverpool as soon as January 2019, if approved.
Lovell Homes, part of the Morgan Sindall Group, was awarded the construction contract in June this year.
Subject to planning approval, the new homes will be delivered in two phases, and will be a mix of 2-4 bedroom houses and bungalows. The first phase of construction would be finished by 2020 and the second phase by 2022.
The development site is between Denford Road, Ackers Hall Avenue and Dunchurch Road – land previously occupied by a city council housing estate.
