The Spartans will battle it out against other liquid waterproofing teams in 30ft dragon boats, each comprising 10 paddlers and 1 drummer. The teams will be challenged to race 200m across a lake in a series of heats, with the four fastest going through to a semi-final. The top two will then go head to head in a final race with the chance to win a prize.
All sponsorship money raised by participants will be donated directly to MIND. In the last 12 months MIND have been able to answer 100,000 calls to their helpline from someone needing mental health advice. The regatta fundraiser aims to encourage donations to increase these numbers, so anyone who is experiencing a mental health problem has access to excellent care and services.
Just £8 could answer a call and provide someone with that vital support and information they need to let them know they are not alone.
The LRWA Charity Dragon Boat Regatta will take place on 2nd May 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
