RICHARD SOAN Roofing Services has announced that its 2019 Charity Race Day event raised £52,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Held annually at Brighton Race Course, the event included an auction, champagne reception, lunch and an afternoon’s racing, with all proceeds going to the charity. The event marquee, located beside the final furlong of the course, was bustling with 320 guests from both the roofing and construction industries.
With a glass of fizz in hand, attendees settled down to a three-course meal punctuated by fundraising games before the racing began. As a seasoned auctioneer, company director, Richard Soan, also sold 18 auction lots throughout the afternoon, all
in the name of charity.
Richard commented, “I’m blown away, it’s the most we have ever raised. I can only thank the amazing generosity and support of all those who attended. It is such a worthy cause and every penny goes into making a difference.”
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK Charity specialising in the care and support of young people with cancer. The charity’s specialist units bring young people together and enable them to have the much-needed support during the challenges of cancer. There are 28 specialist units within NHS hospitals across the UK and 48 nurses and youth support co-ordinators which receive no Government funding.
