Workers at Cambridge based T R Freeman are once again donning their uniforms and going back to school on their latest contract award.
Following on from their recent successes working within the education sector, T R Freeman has been awarded the roofing element of the new sports hall & associated works at The Manor Preparatory School in Abingdon.
Awarded the contract by lead contractors Benfield & Loxley (Builders) Ltd, T R Freeman will be installing Kalzip standing seam metal sheet, chosen for its high level of performance and longevity over 2 roofs. In addition, a Sika-Trocal green roof, complete with man safe system will be installed on a third roof in the development. The building has been designed by MEB Design Ltd, Chartered Architects.
The Manor Preparatory School has a Georgian manor building at its heart and is set in extensive grounds on the outskirts of Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The school has a wide range of award-winning purpose-built classrooms and enviable specialist facilities.
T R Freeman’s, Sales and Estimating Director, Stephen Walker says, “We are delighted to have been awarded another contract working within the education sector. Our growing portfolio includes several schools and colleges in the local area, and we are able to draw on our experience to make sure the project runs smoothly and to schedule.”
He continues: “the use of Kalzip, standing seam on this development is perfect – given how robust and durable it is. The green roof will also bring with it several positives, including economic and ecological benefits.”
The development, which is the first in a series of planned developments within the school, is set to be complete by September 2018.
